Spring summer 2015 colours

Spring summer 2015 ~ Wardrobe building tips with new colours

Soon we will be bidding goodbye to winters and the winter wardrobe . New fresh colours will be invading the market and fashion magazines .
SS15 colours are quite modish and fresh like dew . All forecasted colours of SS15 have their own sweet charm and are capable of invoking different emotions in us. Few are energising and few create a sense of calmness .
Pale Pastels + Cool Hues for Spring 2015 = En Plein Air (In the Open Air) Top (10) Women's and Men's Colors Colorful pastel is in for women this Spring/Summer 2015. The bolder colors in the palette...
My favourites are Marsala , Strawberry ice and Scuba blue as they will be fun to play with prints and accessories .

Neutrals like Titanium ,Glacier gray and toasted almond will be great as anchors .
Lu cite green, Custard and Tangerine will be great as accents and can add a fun element in any traditional or monotonous colour scheme .
Lavender herb and Strawberry ice will attract the romantic and girlish personalities .

Greens like woodbine and Treetop have a coolness factor which makes them more subtle and classy.
Orange family is getting its long due and it has re-occurred this time as Tangerine . Its quite softer and more wearable compared to last years celsosa Orange.
Blue is the new black and is emerging as all time favourite with designers and merchandisers . Cool , calm and muted blue like aquamarine and dusk blue will favour classic and elegant wardrobes . Scuba blue has its own vibrancy and slightly loud character.

Wardrobe with SS15 colours

Colour selection should ideally be based on three major factors

1. Our skin tone - What skin tone you are blessed with ? Warm or cool ?Its popularly said the 'If Colour walks before you than its not your colour'. A right colour worn near your face can make you look healthy and vibrant and even young . Classic blue will look great on a Cool skin tone person whereas Custard and woodbine will compliment a warm hue person.

2. Occasion - Neutrals paired with accent looks great and trendy for office wear. Titanium , Classic blue , Glacier gray and Sandstone are the serene neutrals of this palette .You should be very clear about the message you want to send out through your clothing . You can save the feminine and fashionable prints for evening and weekend wear.

3. Time of the day - Light and warm colours suit day wear and heavy and deep colours are more appropriate for evening wear.

Be colour confident and colour happy #stylecafe

Planning to buy a coat ?

A three point check list before investing into a Coat !
Ask few questions to yourself before indulging into this investment piece .
1. Colour - Does it suits your skin tone ? Will it blend with your existing staples ? Is the colour appropriate for the occasion ? Is the print or embellishment right for your proportions or size ? Is the texture or lustre of fabric right for you ?
2. Fit - It's the second most important factor .Does it flatter your shape ? Do the seams and silhouette stay in shape after you wear it and most importantly after you sit or move ? Does it have enough allowance for a sweater or a cardigan ? Is the hemline even ?
3. Quality - Is the fabric looking fresh and stable ? Are all the trims ,seams and lining good enough ? Check for any piling or loose threads . Check the garment from its reverse size .Make sure buttons and button holes are functional . If there is any pattern like checks or pinstripes , be sure that they perfectly match at seams #stylecafe

Eight staples for winters - Men #stylecafe

Men can style themselves in various ways in winters , even if they own a basic eight piece wardrobe of three good fitting plain V neck sweaters in neutrals and one bright colour , one plain button down cardigan , blazers , jacket and overcoat .

Cardigans - A deep red / true red , If you want to make a mark or be remembered , a red colour is just right for you . Try to avoid any patterns or details and pick a piece which fits you snugly . It can be paired with a matching or a contrast or a tone –on tone jacket . Can be worn with a tie / blazer / coat/overcoat or even a Nehru style jacket . This classic piece can be worn with most of your shirts or T-shirts. Cardigan in Neutral - You can easily show again in it , even maybe two to three times a week with variations . A black one will lend you a powerful look and Navy one will increase your trust factor . Grey colour will show your wisdom and sophistication
2. Button down cardigan - It’s again a versatile piece and can be bought in a neutral shade which compliments your skin tone. It won’t add bulk to your frame and you can layer it with your favourite outerwear .
3. Outer wear - Blazers in your favourite neutrals can be layered over the V necks or cardigans . Jacket can be worn on a casual occasion or during travels. Overcoat can be used as outer most layers during harsh winters .
4. Accessories - Ties , pocket squares and scarves can add pop of colour and add oomph factor . Accessories can also save you from monotony of neutrals .

Shop Like a pro ~Style Cafe

Shop like a pro

Learn how to spot quality, value and worth from across the showroom, what not to buy, and, most importantly, how to tell when something is hanger-cute, but terrible on an real human body

How to Shop Like a Pro and Enjoy Shopping!
# Figure out what to spend and what to save on - My personal rule is if I’ll wear it only once or twice and it’s not for a super-special occasion, I’ll buy it economical.
Clothing item which wears out after few wash cycles is not worth investing.

# Go to a store and try things on! - As much as I am devoted to on-line shopping, I usually like to procure things in-store, especially if they’re classy Or pricey items

# Material / Textile /Fabric first — Fabrics are big for me with ready-to-wear. I try to only buy my favourite fabrics: cottons, silk, wool, no-stretch denim. At times I can compromise on fit but not fabric as I have a saviour for the former …my local tailor :-)

#Shop by season  - Most boutiques offer out of the ordinary sales in January and August as retailers clear out for the next big season of deliveries, so you can get some serious lift on pieces you may already find irresistible

# Quality is in the details —Metal zippers last longer than plastic ones. Fabric patterns should match up at the seams. Stripes, plaids, prints and patterns need to match and align and be alert for the mismatching body and sleeve colour .Button holes may fray or buttons might be loose. Pull and twist them for quality check . The garment with poor rub fastness can be checked with a light coloured cloth piece. Seam strength always needs to be checked. See if the manufacturer is not cheating you with an over finished fabric.

# Don’t go sale crazy — Do not fall for schemes like ‘Buy three Get one free’. Calculate how much you are saving under such schemes. Flat sales are better and you save more. Let the garment appeal you in all areas and not just the price. Like fit, fabric, colour or occasion.
