Eight staples for winters - Men #stylecafe
Men can style themselves in various ways in winters , even if they own a basic eight piece wardrobe of three good fitting plain V neck sweaters in neutrals and one bright colour , one plain button down cardigan , blazers , jacket and overcoat .
Cardigans - A deep red / true red , If you want to make a mark or be remembered , a red colour is just right for you . Try to avoid any patterns or details and pick a piece which fits you snugly . It can be paired with a matching or a contrast or a tone –on tone jacket . Can be worn with a tie / blazer / coat/overcoat or even a Nehru style jacket . This classic piece can be worn with most of your shirts or T-shirts. Cardigan in Neutral - You can easily show again in it , even maybe two to three times a week with variations . A black one will lend you a powerful look and Navy one will increase your trust factor . Grey colour will show your wisdom and sophistication
2. Button down cardigan - It’s again a versatile piece and can be bought in a neutral shade which compliments your skin tone. It won’t add bulk to your frame and you can layer it with your favourite outerwear .
3. Outer wear - Blazers in your favourite neutrals can be layered over the V necks or cardigans . Jacket can be worn on a casual occasion or during travels. Overcoat can be used as outer most layers during harsh winters .
4. Accessories - Ties , pocket squares and scarves can add pop of colour and add oomph factor . Accessories can also save you from monotony of neutrals .

Shop Like a pro ~Style Cafe
Shop like a
pro
Learn how to spot quality, value and worth from across the showroom, what not to buy, and, most importantly, how to tell when something is hanger-cute, but terrible on an real human body
# Figure out what to spend and what to save on - My
personal rule is if I’ll wear it only once or twice and it’s not for a
super-special occasion, I’ll buy it economical.
Clothing item which wears out after few wash cycles is not
worth investing.
# Go to a store and try things on! - As much as
I am devoted to on-line shopping, I usually like to procure things in-store,
especially if they’re classy Or pricey items
# Material /
Textile /Fabric first — Fabrics are big for me with
ready-to-wear. I try to only buy my favourite fabrics: cottons, silk, wool,
no-stretch denim. At times I can compromise on fit but not fabric as I have a saviour for the former …my local tailor :-)
#Shop by season
- Most boutiques offer out of the ordinary sales in January and
August as retailers clear out for the next big season of deliveries, so you can
get some serious lift on pieces you may already find irresistible
# Quality is in the
details —Metal zippers last longer than plastic
ones. Fabric patterns should match up at the seams. Stripes,
plaids, prints and patterns need to match and align and be alert for the
mismatching body and sleeve colour .Button holes may fray or buttons might be loose.
Pull and twist them for quality check . The garment with poor rub fastness
can be checked with a light coloured cloth piece. Seam strength always needs to
be checked. See if the manufacturer is not cheating you with an over finished fabric.
# Don’t go sale
crazy — Do
not fall for schemes like ‘Buy three Get one free’. Calculate how much you are
saving under such schemes. Flat sales are better and you save more. Let the
garment appeal you in all areas and not just the price. Like fit, fabric, colour or occasion.

Marsala - Trending colour of 2015
Colour trend - Marsala
Because of its burnished undertones , Marsala colour can be blended and paired with neutrals as well as warm colours like apricot and golden Ochre.
Marsala, a naturally robust and earthy wine red, as the Color of the Year for 2015.
Marsala will look great on Indian skin tones and can be paired beautifully with our favourite metal Gold .
This exuberant, yet stylish tone is globally appealing and translates easily to fashion, beauty, industrial design, home furnishings and interiors.
The poignant, full-bodied qualities of Marsala makes for an elegant statement color when the color is used on its own or as a mesmeric accent when paired with many other colors.
Jackie wears and pairs in the colour in right proportions . A subtle shine of leather combined with matte fabric finish . The silhouette is great for her inverted triangle frame . Minimum accessory look lends elegance to the total look
Here is an example of too much of colour , that too with lustrous textures . Shilpa stylists could have paired it with a matte/ different colour bodice as she really does not requires a monotone combo because of her tall and slender frame. An unexpected element of colour /accessory/make-up could have saved the look
Marsala is dramatic and at the same time grounding and can be paired elegantly with Grey / beige / muted gold/ black or navy
Skin tone appear very healthy and bright in Marsala . This colour tone nourishes the mind, body and soul, exuding confidence and stability to the wearer
Men can rock too in Marsala with the right texture and colour pairing
